What are the salient features of your school?

Holy Hearts School is centrally situated in the heart of Varanasi in a lush green and tranquil environment. We have an excellent infrastructure like big, airy, well ventilated and decorated classrooms, a playground with swings and slides, an assembly hall with a stage for children to show their talent, an Activity Room with all the latest educational teaching aids with audio visual facilities and computers, RO drinking water with attached water cooler. The ambience provided at school attracts the little ones and the excellent staff in our school welcomes them with open hearts and tender guidance. The school is recognized by Uttar Pradesh Government under the Basic Siksha Adhikari, Varanasi.

Do you provide mid-day meal at your school?

We do not provide any mid-day meal, however, we take care in providing neat and hygienic behavior while eating meals. Healthy eating habits are encouraged amongst children to improve their table manners. Washing hands before and after meals, spreading of a napkin, using of spoon and fork  and independent eating habits are inculcated for a healthy routine.

What is the student – teacher ratio?

We understand the need of maintaining this ratio that is why most of our classes maintain the ratio of 20:1 i.e., 1 teacher for every 20 student or less. With this kind of ratio, our teachers ensure that no child is left out and they are able to give equal attention to all students present in the class. Thereby, Holy Hearts ensures equal learning for all.

What are the school timings?

A child has to spend 3 ½ hours in school. There is a facility for early going for new admissions (Pre-Nursery to L.K.G.) for few days only till the child has adjusted to the school atmosphere. The school expects all the children to be punctual and regular to school. Saturday is a non-working day from Pre-Nursery to LKG.

Summer Timing:(PN – LKG)7:30 am till 11:00 am*; (UKG - V) 7:30 am till 11:45am*

Winter Timing:   (PN – LKG)8:30 am till 12:00noon*;(UKG – V) 8:30 am till 1:00pm*

*Timings are subject to change according to the intensity of heat /cold wave prevailing in the city.

What is the teaching method used?

Primarily we have a Play way Method (Pre-Nursery–UKG) of teaching at Holy Hearts. However to name a few we use international methodologies which includes kindergarten method, learning with Montessori Equipment & Kits and other teaching aids and modern concepts. To mention a few activities that help our students learn the most are Literary Activities, Scientific Activities, Artistic and Sports Activities etc. We do have Intelli–Classes using multimedia labs. for enhancing learning and creativity amongst the children. A lot of emphasis is given to learning and writing skills keeping in mind the primary education. 

How do you prepare the child for future school?

For Pre-Nursery and Nursery:

Providing the base of life at Holy Hearts, we prepare each child for their later life by introducing academics to them. It includes everything, which a child requires to know before he/she joins any formal school like color concepts, phonetics, alphabet, numbers, vocabulary, etc. No formal examination is conducted for the Pre-Nursery and Nursery class.  

From Class LKG to V:

Assessment is based on the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation system as per CBSE pattern.

Along with these we also focus on building their social skills by giving them the overall development. We boost their confidence, emotional security; develop their personality etc. that they will need the most in their later life after Holy Hearts.

Is there any transport facility of your school?

The school provides transport facility to most parts of the city with the required safety & security measures. The transport is managed by a Transport Incharge, who is available in the school during school hours.

What are the safety and security norms of your school?

The school takes utmost care in providing safety and security to your children during school hours. Parents/guardians have to leave their ward/s in their respective classrooms and at home time have to collect their children from their classrooms only. A Parent’s Card system is implemented, where no child is handed over to any person without holding a Parent’s Card. The passages and main entrance of the school are regularly monitored on CCTV installed in the school premises.

What are the activities for the preschoolers?

Fine motor skills -- or use of the hands.

Among the fine motor skills your child will perfect in Holy Hearts School are the abilities to:

  • paste things onto paper
  • clap hands
  • touch fingers
  • button and unbutton
  • work a zipper
  • build a tower of 10 blocks
  • complete puzzles with five or more pieces
  • manipulate pencils and crayons well enough to color and draw
  • making snakes with play doh
  • crushing of newspaper
  • transfer of rice to another bowl with help of spoon
  • squeezing a lemon, peeling of a banana, Scooping a mango
  • using a tweezer and a fork
  • tracing broken lines with crayon & pencil

GROSS MOTOR ACTIVITIES: Aimed at improving standing and walking balance.

  • walking along a narrow beam or line marked on the ground – forwards, backwards, sideways
  • stand on one leg
  • stepping up and down or from one box/bucket to another
  • walking along balance beam
  • walking on toes and on heels
  • follow a wriggly line – walk on line or feet either side
  • jumping on the spot, jumping forward from a line two feet together, jump backwards
  • jumping circle to circle, over a rope – stationary or moving (snakes)
  • catch a ball, throw a ball, kick a ball

EXTRA – CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES FROM CLASS UKG – V

Besides developing academic skills, the school lays a lot of emphasis on physical development of the body as well. For this it is compulsory for every child from class Ukg – V to join any one of the following activities – YOGA, TAEKWANDO, SKATING & CASIO, conducted in the school.
