Holy Hearts School serves children in the Pre-Nursery (Age 2 1/2 years), Nursery (3 + years), Lower Kindergarten (4+ years) and Upper Kindergarten (5+ years). Children from Class I to V are taught following CBSE Pattern based curriculum in English Medium.
Holy Hearts School is one of the most prominent names in Play Schools in the city. We treat all children as per their uniqueness and specialty. We recognize that children whose basic emotional, social, spiritual and physical needs are met and nurtured through the preschool years in levels like Playgroup, Nursery, L.K.G. & U.K.G. become ready and eager to learn the academics in elementary school. The curriculum for each age level is based on thematic lessons. Besides classroom activities, rhymes, music, dance etc. pre-writing skills and colouring are also introduced to a child for cognitive development. They are developed for every child individually for them to enjoy and experience success. We encourage & support child's self-initiated investigations so that they learn while doing or playing.
The wonderful pre-school memories begin in our classrooms. In Nursery, we start by creating informal learning experiences that generate a positive foundation for Kindergarten. We engage them with other kids and together they explore toys, look at books, sing, play on puzzles etc. During the early childhood education, we teach them that school is a safe place to explore their world in many new & exciting ways. We have various activities to support our curriculum including arts and craft and the wonderful activity room. This introduces or reinforces fine social skills.
Songs, poems and dances reinforces pre-reading skills such as phonetics awareness and letter recognition. Working with books like nursery rhymes, alphabets, numbers and poems combined with audio visual teaching aids encourage familiarity with print, letter recognition and the beginning of phonetic awareness.
Pre-Maths introduces a child to the skills of following multi-step instructions, matching, counting and measuring.
Science and Social Studies are introduced through activities on the five senses, the seasons, weather, animals, birds, families, friends & helpers, as well as in many other ways.
L.K.G. (Lower Kindergarten)
In Holy Hearts School L.K.G. (Lower Kindergarten) program, we encourage children to look for peer relationships, to share, contribute, and to interact with others in a group to explore & create. In addition, L.K.G. consists of a vast array of lessons and learning, through companionship & numerous recreational activities. The syllabus is composed to stimulate and satisfy the child's curiosity. This level concentrates on developing further social skills while introducing Kindergarten activities in a fun, exciting and developmentally appropriate way. In addition to social development and inculcating good habits, social manners & etiquettes, the lower kindergarten focuses on letter recognition and sounds, handwriting, sight words, reading, readiness, simple math concepts, and exploring the world around us through science and technology.
U.K.G. (Upper Kindergarten)
This U.K.G. (Upper Kindergarten) program, level organizes appropriate activities into many lessons and sessions designed to accomplish readiness for Kindergarten as well as further strengthen the children's self-confidence and self-esteem. Our children get the opportunity to explore each lesson and learning sessions with the other children in U.K.G. Teachers encourage readiness to learn and question; utilization of the children's developing sense of responsibility; and their interest in play, construction and simple games. Memory development visual discrimination, safety rules and sense of security are also an important area of development for a child in U.K.G. It focuses on orienting the child to develop self-confidence and honesty. At Holy Hearts, the upper kindergarten program offers a "kinder, gentler" approach for children who need an extra year to grow before entering a full day formal school.
CLASS I - V
The focus in the primary classes will be on learning through experience. Applicable to both, academic as well as co-curricular activities. During primary school, learning through experience is achieved through exposure to as many activities and environments as possible. Development of the child's scientific temper, evolution of a questioning and inquisitive mind, self-expression and communication, self-confidence along with spatial and motor skills will all be honed and transacted through the curriculum. Evaluation will be a continuous process instead of a one-time, end of the academic year, testing system. This will lessen pressure on the child and allow for the child's learning experiences to be joyous and stress-free.
